Residents will learn more about the future of 71 Sandy Pond Road at the Select Board meeting on May 19th. The board was advised of this during the administrative update at the March 17th meeting.
In 2024, Ayer Town Meeting voted to approve the use of Community Preservation Funds to help finance and acquire 71 Sandy Pond Road, a 2.29-acre parcel across the intersection and street from Sandy Pond Beach. The property borders Sandy Pond Road and Snake Hill Road. The CPC funds were to be combined with ARPA funds, according to page 12 of the Town Meeting presentation.
The Select Board later appointed the 71 Sandy Pond Working Group. In addition to public meetings, the group hosted a Design Charette in May 2025 to gather public input.
