(Aug. 13, 2026) – The Ayer Affordable Housing Committee will host a community housing forum on Tuesday, Sept. 29th, from 6-8 pm at Ayer Town Hall. Residents are invited to attend.
In recent weeks, the committee chair has been attending committee and board meetings, trying to spread the word about the forum and ask committees if they have feedback. On Aug. 13th, she told the Conservation Commission that the forum is a chance for residents to ask questions, learn and share how they want to see Ayer grow.
“If you don’t have a good inventory, prices are just going to keep going up. We’re trying our best, being an affordable housing committee, to go ahead and do what we can to try to keep affordable units coming,” she said.
Among this year’s topics, residents will have an opportunity to learn about the town’s zoning bylaw and the town’s infrastructure to support new housing (water and sewer). The forum will also cover ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units).
