(Sept. 25, 2026) – The deadline for submitting applications for a Local Cultural Council grant is Oct. 15th. The Massachusetts Cultural Council funds and manages a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils (LCCs) across Massachusetts. Each LCC awards money based on individual community cultural needs, assessed and set by LCC members.
Applicants must reside or be located in Massachusetts. Who can apply:
- individuals
- nonprofit organizations
- for-profit organizations
- tribal; federal state, and municipal government organizations
- religious organizations
This is a unique grant opportunity because individuals can apply without having to find a fiscal sponsor (such as a nonprofit). And anyone can apply; you don’t need to know the local cultural council before you apply. Grants can be large or small, starting with just a few hundred dollars, though the Mass Cultural Council website states Ayer has a FY27 Allocation of $7,500.
