Ayer News will start publishing occasional summaries on Ayer Police and Fire logs, in response to resident requests. Our process: we will review the police logs posted on the town website and request incident information from the police and fire department at times. Then our Ayer News reporter will independently compile a partial, abbreviated summary for our website.

At 8:28 am, Ayer Police initiated a traffic stop in the vicinity of Ayer Shirley Regional School District at 141 Washington Street and issued a traffic warning. Another stop was initiated in the same area at 8:41 am. Another traffic warning was issued.

That evening, a caller reported a parking complaint in the vicinity of Third Street and a parking citation was issued.

At 8:42 am, there was a report of leaving the scene of PI/PD (personal injury and property damage) on Sandy Pond Road.
Just before 9 pm, police initiated a traffic stop and a woman was arrested at West Main and Union streets on charges of operating under the influence and failure to stop/yield.

A person walked into the police station and reported a vandalism at a Main Street business.

At 10:23 pm, Ayer Police served paperwork to a man at a Fitchburg Road motel, resulting in a warrant arrest.
